Scope of Project:

Ben Ainslie Racing HQ is the new home of the British team challenging for the America’s cup, a highly prestigious project it is an asset to our portfolio.  T.A.Colbourne provided the complete structure and shell for the building including the structural steelwork, composite floors, GRC and glazed façade and fabric doors featuring a huge union flag.  The wall cladding was designed specifically for the project and features a 240mm thick composite metal panel with a GRC rainscreen providing exceptional insulation values. T.A.Colbourne where also responsible for 3000m² of Wilotekt Axter, Hot Melt Roofing, consisting of a surface primer, a polymer modified bitumen liquid applied in a single layer with a high strength woven glass mesh reinforcing fabric all protected by a 4mm polyester reinforced elastometric bitumen membrane.


Sir Ben took a personal interest in the build and we were visited on site by The Duchess of Cambridge and Prime Minister David Cameron.
